The island was once home to a copra plantation and thus boasts thousands of towering coconut palms, interspersed with frangipani, hibiscus and bougainvillea flowers. Lomani Fiji Resort offers a tranquil and romantic atmosphere that is ideal for those seeking total relaxation. With only 24 rooms this resort is small and exclusive with a 4 star international rating. Hostservice was employed to provide a complete design, supply and fit-out of the resort’s new restaurant and function kitchen along with the breakfast buffet.

THE CHALLENGE:

As exciting as it seemed – working in the Islands always has its challenges – and the kitchen at Lomani was not exempt from these!

Supply for materials and products were limited on the island, and getting everything to site was going to be no small job.  Time changes, cultural differences and liaising with architects all brought their own unique trials, and we weren’t just up the road if something cropped up.

THE SOLUTION:

Hostservice was employed to provide a complete design, supply and fit-out of the resort’s new restaurant and function kitchen along with the breakfast buffet.

And even being based 3,300 kilometres away, the design process and the project management was carried out smoothly, any problems that arose were fixed quickly and with a minimum of fuss.  Logistics were collated and coordinated, with multiple shipments from multiple locations and suppliers around New Zealand and the world which arrived in a timely manner.

Hostservice carried out the installation and commissioning of the kitchen equipment and the breakfast buffet area (which looks amazing!), along with designing supplying and fitting extract ducts and fans to suit a very steep pitched roof – all with out compromising sight lines and the aesthetic appeal.  Overall this was a job we enjoyed being involved in, and are privileged to have worked on such a project in such a beautiful part of the world.
