Te Puea Marae

Te Puea Memorial Marae, located in Māngere Bridge, Auckland, is a valued community facility that caters for a wide range of functions and events. Hostservice were engaged by Stronghold Group to deliver a full design and build commercial kitchen solution tailored to the marae’s operational preferences. The project incorporated a combination of gas and electrical equipment based on clients preference. Hostservice project managers worked closely with the builders and sub contractors throughout the process to ensure seamless coordination and delivery. Unique features of the kitchen include three roller doors - one for serving cooked food through, and doors two and three designated for returning dirty dishes — saving time by eliminating the need for people to walk around to the wash-up area. There are also lockable pantry roller doors to help prevent theft and enhance security, along with abundant natural lighting from perimeter windows and a skylight, creating a good environment.
